Membership of Energy UK is open to a wide range of organisations within the energy sector and offers a host of benefits and opportunities.
As the leading trade association in the energy policy arena, Energy UK provides crucial insight to topical issues, acts as a key focal point for providing industry views to government and offers a platform for sharing best practice and thought-leadership.
The future of energy
Energy is an increasingly diverse sector with more and more companies active in the market in a range of different ways. To reflect this, Energy UK works on the future energy landscape with engagement on smart metering and smart grids, demand side response and management, energy aggregation and energy services. As the UK moves to a more integrated energy system, with more distributed generation and smarter consumption, Energy UK plays a leading role in forging partnerships across the industry as well as with government and stakeholders to deliver this ambitious energy future.
Energy UK’s reach is far wider than the UK alone.
We are actively involved with policy-making not just in Westminster but also with the devolved administrations in Edinburgh and Cardiff. The organisation has permanent representation in Scotland and a programme of events centred around Holyrood. We are also very active in Brussels, feeding into the policymaking process through a programme of meetings, briefings and events. In addition to our own work with the EU institutions, we are active members of EURELECTRIC and Eurogas which enables us to share and gather support for our positions internationally.
