The voice of the energy industry

Energy efficiency

Energy suppliers work closely with Government and stakeholders to offer consumers opportunities to be more energy efficient.

The Green Deal is a Government energy efficiency scheme which helps customers make energy-saving improvements to their home and find the best way to pay for them.

Energy suppliers have an obligation to deliver energy efficient measures to householders via the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO). ECO was introduced in Great Britain at the beginning of 2013 and replaces two previous energy efficiency programmes, the Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) and the Community Energy Saving Programme (CESP). ECO operates alongside the Green Deal.

Local Authority path to energy efficiency projects

We have published an in-depth guide with a typical Local Authority path to energy efficiency projects. Energy efficiency measures can help lower energy bills for customers and keep them warm in winter. Local Authorities are important partners for energy suppliers in delivering measures to consumers, helping them cut their energy use and energy bills. This paper has been designed as a tool to help Local Authorities interested in setting up domestic energy efficiency projects within their communities but have not yet built relationships with suppliers.
