Home Heat Helpline backs Big Energy Saving Week

Home Heat Helpline is backing the fifth Big Energy Saving Week, which began on 26 October. The national campaign helps people cut their fuel bills and get all the financial support they are entitled to. Around 300,000 people are switching supplier each month showing customers are willing to shop around and find the best deal for them.  Switching is not the only thing people can do, there are also small things you can do around the house to save money on your energy bills:
Adjust your thermostat - lowering the temperature by 1°C can reduce energy bills by up to 10%
Place heat reflectors behind your radiators to push heat back into the room
Don’t charge phones/ laptops longer than necessary
Only boil as much water as you need

Also consider:

Some suppliers offer discounts if you agree to receive bills online; reduces costs for them and its good for the environment
The way you pay your bill is important - paying by direct debit can save an average of £100
