In response to the Energy & Climate Change Select Committee's Draft Energy Bill: Pre-legislative Scrutiny report, a spokesperson for Energy UK said:
"A huge amount of investment is required to provide Britain with secure, affordable and sustainable energy into the future. Attracting that investment requires the right Government policy, and it's critical to get the Energy Bill right to deliver this. The select committee report shows the value of pre-legislative scrutiny. Timely decisions are important to secure financial backing, and we will work closely with Government to resolve the remaining issues over the coming months."
