The UK energy sector is undergoing a rapid transformation. This report represents an overview of how Government can build on the success to date of the CFD and Capacity Market (CM) frameworks to ensure that we bring forward investment at the lowest cost to customers.

The Electric Vehicle Revolution is the first of a series of reports from Energy UK on electric vehicles. This report highlights opportunities created for the energy sector by electric vehicles and how the UK as a whole can benefit from a mass uptake, provided that the right polices and partnerships are made now across the transport and energy sector, with both Government and the relevant regulators.

Energy UK review of customer communication supply licence conditions. This work was commissioned by Ofgem and intends to inform a forthcoming Ofgem review of the supply licence rules relating to supplier-customer communications.

Energy UK strongly believes in promoting competitive energy markets that produce good outcomes for consumers. Ill-considered or poorly constructed regulation risks removing the competitive impetus that has driven the huge benefits seen in the market we have today, including an increasing number of suppliers offering a range of innovative products. A well-functioning retail market must be one where competition drives innovation and improvements in customer service; where consumers engage to get the best deal, and where effective support is in place for the most vulnerable.

This paper presents Energy UK’s recommendations that government should consider as a minimum necessary to set the country on track to deliver its fifth carbon budget.

The electricity network system in Great Britain is undergoing significant reforms. Ancillary services are services and functions provided to the System Operator (SO) that facilitate and support the continuous flow of electricity so that supply will continually meet demand.
