Towards Net Zero
The energy sector has led the way in reducing the UK’s carbon emissions. In the last decade alone, our Industry has invested over £100bn to help power the economy with increasingly clean sources of electricity – thus helping cut greenhouse gas emissions from the power sector by 68% since 1990, which represents over half of the total UK reduction during that time .
The energy industry has committed to delivering a Net Zero power system during the next decade and to celebrate the work achieved so far towards that goal by our members, Energy UK is launching the Towards Net Zero initiative to showcase - on our social media channels and elsewhere - the exciting projects and people leading the way in the energy transition.
How to get involved in the Towards Net Zero Initiative:
- Net Zero projects – From infrastructure to energy efficiency, we are looking to feature examples of projects that are contributing towards reducing carbon emissions, highlighting the innovation and investment behind them and the economic benefits they bring like job creation.
- Team Net Zero – Every project or initiative needs people to drive it forward and so Energy UK wants to celebrate those individuals behind the energy transition who are bringing about change.
