The UK and Europe share the same challenges and objectives in energy and climate policy. Both have legally binding net zero targets for 2050 and both are committed to breaking our dependence on volatile gas markets by developing homegrown clean energy. The UK-EU reset Summit marked a change in Britain’s relationship with Europe. However, with much to discuss from defence to growth to trade, what progress will be now made on energy?
Join Energy UK in partnership with National Grid for this hybrid event where we will discuss what needs to happen on energy following the Summit, what challenges will still be faced, and how might this impact the energy transition globally.
Confirmed speakers:
- Adam Berman, Director of Policy and Advocacy, Energy UK (Chair)
- Silke Goldberg, Global Head of ESG, Herbert Smith Freehills
- Rebecca Sedler, Managing Director, Interconnectors, National Grid
- John Springford, Associate Fellow, Centre for European Reform (CER)
