Breakfast Briefings
Held throughout the year, our Breakfast Briefings lead the conversation on areas of interest to our members and stakeholders. These range from policy-specific topics such as infrastructure planning, energy efficiency and the Review of the Electricity Market Arrangements to general discussions around the future of the energy market or the digitalisation of utilities.
These virtual or in-person panel events are free to attend and usually last one hour. Aimed at people working in industry, parliamentarians and wider stakeholders, sessions are opened by leading experts with their views before the discussion is widened into an audience Q&A.

Annual Conference
The energy industry’s flagship event will gather senior leaders and experts from across the industry to discuss and debate the most important issues facing our sector. The Annual Conference 2024 saw panel discussions on how energy matters to people, power and prosperity, and how industry can deliver an affordable and secure net-zero power system.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in Energy (EDI) Conference
The industry’s annual EDI Conference is an opportunity to bring together senior leaders, changemakers, professionals and groups dedicated to improving EDI to share good practice, challenge one another and hear from companies and individuals that are leading the way. Initially an Energy UK initiative, the conference has grown over the years and is now an industry-wide collaboration with Ofgem and the ENA to drive forward improvements in EDI across the whole sector.

Young Energy Professionals (YEP) Awards
Our Young Energy Professionals Forum is a network for people with up to 10 years’ experience in the energy industry. Each year, the YEP awards provide an opportunity to celebrate up-and-coming talent, recognising the leaders of the future.
Colm Murphy of NESO, YEP Forum Chair Yumann Siddiq of Smart DCC and Emma Pinchbeck of Energy UK (now CEO of the Climate Change Committee) delivered forward-looking keynote speeches, highlighting the challenges in achieving Net Zero and the impact early-career professionals across industry have in overcoming them. We welcomed newly appointed YEP Forum Chair and Vice Chair, Connor Innes of Energy Systems Catapult, and Isabella Oratore of Magnesium Capital, who walked us through the exciting things we can expect of the YEP Forum in 2025. And hosting the awards this year, Climate Comedian Stuart Goldsmith put his own humorous spin on the importance of action against climate change.
Sponsorship opportunities are available for 2025.

Lightning Bolt Talks
Energy UK’s Lightning Bolt Talks bring together people from the worlds of energy, policy and beyond, to share exciting and innovative ways of using data to understand, explain and improve energy in the UK. From supporting consumers to achieving Net Zero, the challenges the sector faces require fresh thinking and new ways of unlocking the power of information. To explore those ideas, the event hosts time-limited talks from a range of speakers across different policy areas.

Parliamentary Reception
This is an invitation-only event that brings together our Members, elected representatives and working peers at the Houses of Parliament.
