Breakfast Briefings

Held throughout the year, our Breakfast Briefings lead the conversation on areas of interest to our members and stakeholders. These range from policy-specific topics such as infrastructure planning, energy efficiency and the Review of the Electricity Market Arrangements to general discussions around the future of the energy market or the digitalisation of utilities.

These virtual or in-person panel events are free to attend and usually last one hour. Aimed at people working in industry, parliamentarians and wider stakeholders, sessions are opened by leading experts with their views before the discussion is widened into an audience Q&A.

Annual Conference

The energy industry’s flagship event gathers senior leaders and experts from across the industry, to discuss and debate the most important issues facing our sector.

The Annual Conference 2025 saw panel discussions on how energy matters to people, power and prosperity, and how industry can deliver an affordable and secure net-zero power system.

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in Energy Conference

At the industry’s annual EDI in Energy Conference, senior leaders, changemakers, professionals and groups dedicated to improving EDI share good practice, challenge one another – and hear from the companies and individuals leading the way.

Initially an Energy UK initiative, the conference has grown over the years and is now an industry-wide collaboration with Ofgem, the Energy Institute and the ENA to drive forward improvements in EDI across the whole sector.

Young Energy Professionals (YEP) Awards

Each year, Young Energy Professionals celebrates up-and-coming talent and recognises the leaders of the future at an annual black-tie awards ceremony.

Across nine award categories spanning the breadth of the sector, winners have used initiative and ambition to carry out work that has made an impact on their company and the wider industry. We are now inviting nominations for the 2026 awards.

Award sponsorship opportunities are now available for 2026. Please get in touch with membership@energy-uk.org.uk for more information.

Lightning Bolt Talks

Energy UK’s Lightning Bolt Talks bring together innovators and experts from the worlds of energy, policy and beyond, to share exciting and ground-breaking ways of using data to understand, explain and improve energy in the UK.

From supporting consumers to achieving Net Zero, the challenges the sector faces require fresh thinking and new ways of unlocking the power of information. To explore those ideas, the event hosts time-limited talks from a range of speakers across different policy areas.
