Health and Safety Conference

Health and Safety Conference

Energy UK’s annual Health and Safety Conference took place on the 15 November at the Marriott Hotel, Leeds.

For the fifth year running, Energy UK brought industry leaders in Health and Safety together with those on the ground, to discuss key areas which impact the sector we see today including; asset demolition, fire safety and the smart meter roll out among many others.

The event offered the opportunity for leading practitioners in Health and Safety in energy (and its supply chain) to come together to network with fellow industry peers and hear from those driving change and improvement throughout the sector.

In keeping with Energy UK’s project of the year, the conference followed the theme of the Future of Energy and considered how prominent technologies from renewable energy to battery storage require attention and guidance from a Health and Safety point of view, and how Energy UK can support progression in these areas.

We heard from Pete Bryant, President-Elect, Society for Radiological Protection, Sue Ferns, Deputy General Secretary, Prospect, Jonathan Hughes, Vice-President,  Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, Martin Kealy, Managing Director, MKA Fire, Sarah Page, Consultant and MHFA Instructor, New Moon Mental Health, John Rowe, Head of Manufacturing and Utilities, Health and Safety Executive.

The next Health and Safety Conference will be in Spring 2020. We hope to see you there.

We would like to thank our sponsors:
