More than 430,000 customers switched supplier last month reveals new data released by Energy UK today. This is an increase of 19 percent on last May and takes the total number of switches in 2017 to over 2.2 million. May also saw three in ten (128,180) customers switch from a large supplier to a small or mid-tier supplier.
If you are switching your gas account to another supplier during May 2017 it may take longer than usual for the switch to complete.
The latest switching data, published today by Energy UK, reveal over half a million customers (536,658) switched supplier in March. This is an increase of 13 percent on last March and takes switching in 2017 to over 1.3 million consumers.
According to the latest data published today (Wednesday 8 February) by Energy UK, the trend for switching continued in January with another year-on-year increase. Last month, 345,000 customers changed supplier, an increase of 31 percent compared to January 2016.
Customers can switch energy supplier in the certainty the process will be quick, easy and hassle-free. The new Energy Switch Guarantee has been designed to allow more consumers to benefit from the deal which best suits them. It sets out ten commitments for the switching process to promote: confidence; understanding; and willingness to switch.
