As Christmas approaches it’s easy to think about winding down but the events team at Energy UK has been doing anything but as we look to 2016 and start to get dates in the diary. 2015 was Energy UK’s busiest ever year for functions with 41 events in total. These ranged from our big set-piece events including a reception in Brussels, our Parliamentary Reception in the House of Commons and our Annual Conference in Westminster to more intimate breakfast briefings discussing the implementation of REMIT, the energy politics of the general election and the future of interconnection in the UK. We ran a programme of events on ‘Resilient Futures’ with the Industry and Parliament Trust to discuss with Parliamentarians and stakeholders how the future of the UK’s energy sector is shaping up. And we were in Brighton and Manchester for the Labour and Conservative Party Conferences.
So we are now looking forward to 2016 which is only 15 days away and lining up a programme of European engagement with three delegations to Brussels, getting out and about in Scotland with our expanded team north of the border with a series of events in Holyrood and continuing the work in Westminster with our usual series of breakfast briefings and stakeholder events. With a Parliamentary Reception in February / March and our Annual Conference already confirmed for 10 November, the calendar is filling up nicely with 27 events already on the radar.
But we’re always looking for more opportunities to showcase the industry and discuss the cutting-edge ideas being developed across the sector so please do get in touch if you have an idea for an event we could run, or you’d like to partner on and we’ll happily see what we can add to our diary.
