Energy UK comments on DECC's FiT review
Energy UK responds to Department of Energy and Climate Change launching its Feed in Tariff (FiT) review.
Lawrence Slade, chief executive of Energy UK, said:
“While it is understood that as the cost of technologies such as solar PV fall, subsidy support should be expected to also reduce. The cuts announced today, will effectively put an end to small scale renewables in the UK, including rooftop solar and community projects. Such a dramatic cut will fundamentally undermine investor confidence in the UK’s renewable sector - putting jobs and future growth at risk. Government urgently needs to set out how we can build on the success and benefits of the industry in the long term.”
