Energy UK's comment on Shadow Energy Secretary's speech at the Labour Party Conference

Following  Shadow Energy Secretary's, Lisa Nandy, speech to the Labour Party Annual Conference on 29 September 2015, Energy UK has issued a comment.

Lawrence Slade, chief executive of Energy UK said:

"Customers, companies and elected representatives all want the same thing: choice and value for all energy users, warm homes and cleaner power. Competition helps keep prices down. Today there are many more suppliers in the market and around quarter of a million people switch every month. But Britain needs to invest for the future. For that the energy industry needs long term policy certainty and a secure framework to give investors the confidence to invest. Energy UK and its members will work constructively with the government and opposition parties to deliver the sustainable, lower carbon future we all want."
