Energy UK publishes Safety Net audit results
Following the publication of the Safety Net audit results for 2016, Energy UK issued the following statement.
Lawrence Slade, chief executive of Energy UK, said:
“The Safety Net is an important commitment by Energy UK members to never knowingly disconnect a vulnerable customer. Over the past decade, suppliers have worked hard to ensure all customers stay on grid with access to energy at a flick of a switch. That is why since 2003, disconnections have dropped by almost 100 per cent.”
“Publishing the results of the Safety Net audit underlines the priority that energy suppliers place on protecting their most vulnerable customers. The results demonstrate the good practice that is found in the industry but suppliers know there is no place for complacency.”
