Energy UK comment on vulnerable customers
Following the Turn2us research on customers in vulnerable circumstances, Energy UK issued the following statement.
Lawrence Slade, chief executive of Energy UK, said:
“The first step for anyone worried about their energy bills must be to contact their energy supplier as soon as possible, especially if their circumstances change.
“The industry spends hundreds of millions of pounds every year helping those that need it most, often going above and beyond their regulated obligations. Help ranges from many industry led initiatives, trust funds and supplier’s own schemes for vulnerable customers. Getting in touch is the best way to access the support available and we cannot stress this enough.”
