Energy UK’s Young Energy Professionals Forum brightens its offering by partnering with CGI
Energy UK’s Young Energy Professionals Forum (YEP Forum) will be joining forces with CGI, the fifth largest independent information technology and business process services firm in the world.
The YEP Forum was started in 2013 with the aim of bringing young energy professionals together to learn, collaborate and develop one another. With skills becoming a major pillar in the Government’s integral industrial strategy, the role of professional networks such as the YEP Forum cannot be underplayed.
Over its short lifespan, the network has grown with the membership now representing over 250 different companies, not just those directly in the energy industry.
Lawrence Slade, chief executive of Energy UK said:
“The YEP Forum is a proud part of our work addressing the industry age gap with now over 1,400 members. The chance for those new in the industry to share experiences with other individuals and learn cannot be missed. This partnership will see the Forum develop and be part of a better offering for those new to the energy industry.”
YEP Forum offers an extensive network to the next and current generation of energy industry professionals who can connect and participate at events. Members learn from leading industry experts and share experiences in an informal, exciting, and open learning environment.
Tara McGeehan, Senior Vice President, UK Energy, Utilities and Telecoms, CGI, said:
“CGI is delighted to be sponsoring the Young Energy Professionals Forum. We are passionate supporters of young people pursuing their careers in technology and STEM subjects in general. We believe that the YEP Forum brings together our continued work with the energy industry and our desire to support a more balanced and diverse workforce.”
