Responding to the Government’s consultation response on onshore wind community benefits, Aradhna Tandon, Policy Manager at Energy UK, said:
“We’re pleased to see the Government taking forward proposals to develop guidance and best practice so that developers and communities can work together effectively to get more of our power from onshore wind. Onshore wind is one of the cheapest forms of energy and polls have consistently shown that it enjoys strong public support. We look forward to working with the Department of Energy Security and Net Zero over the coming weeks and months to ensure that local communities can benefit in different ways that best meet their priorities in return for hosting important infrastructure like this.”
