Energy UK responds to changes for small business energy customers

Responding to announcements by the Government and Ofgem on changes for small business energy customers, Energy UK’s Deputy Director, Daniel Portis said:

“Suppliers have worked closely with Ofgem and the Government to look at how the non-domestic energy market can work better for all its customers. So we support the announcement today that small businesses will have access to more information to enhance their understanding of the market as well as clarity and transparency around commissions and further access to dispute resolution where required. In addition, Energy UK will continue to support giving Ofgem the legal powers to set out and enforce rules for third parties which would further increase regulatory oversight and establish higher standards for brokers so that business customers are properly protected.”
