Energy UK responds to Hydrogen APPG’s report

Responding to the Hydrogen APPG’s report, ‘How the UK’s hydrogen sector can help support the UK’s economic recovery,’ Energy UK’s chief executive, Emma Pinchbeck said:

“The new report from the All Party Parliamentary Group on hydrogen recognises the crucial role that hydrogen can play in the post-COVID-19 economic recovery and in our transition to net-zero and we are pleased to see that many of Energy UK’s recommendations have been included in their advice to government.

“This pandemic has delivered a huge shock to our economy and our daily lives but there is a massive opportunity now to kickstart the UK economic recovery, create jobs, invest in communities, and protect our environment, by delivering the UK’s net-zero target.

“We support the view of the All Party Parliamentary Group that a comprehensive national hydrogen strategy is the first step in unleashing the UK’s potential to be a global-leader in low-carbon hydrogen.”
