Energy UK comment on Fuel Poverty Committee's first report
In light of the Fuel Poverty Committee (CFP) releasing its first ever report, Energy UK has commented on the report.
Audrey Gallacher, Director of Retail Energy Supply said:
"Energy UK welcomes the publication of the Fuel Poverty Committee’s report.
"While the energy industry does a huge amount to help customers who are struggling with the cost of fuel, ultimately we need Government to take the lead.
"Government needs to deliver a joined up approach to fuel poverty bringing different departmental responsibilities for welfare, housing, energy and others together, focused on ways to help people who are struggling. In particular, industry would embrace better sharing of data with Government to identify and support households in greatest need as quickly and efficiently as we can.
“If anyone is struggling, they should contact their energy supplier to discuss the wide range of help and support available.”
