Energy UK comments on BEIS Public Attitudes Survey
Following the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) publishing Wave 21 of its Public Attitudes Survey, there was an increase in the support for renewables. The survey stated support for renewables remained high at 79% and levels of support for individual renewables technologies was the highest ever. As such, Energy UK has issued its statement.
Lawrence Slade, chief executive of Energy UK said:
“This increasing show of support for renewables - the highest since the tracker began - should send a strong message to the next government. We must stand firm on our commitments to decarbonisation and ensure the industrial strategy is built on a low carbon economy.
"As stated in our recent manifesto, it is necessary to re-establish a route-to-market for the least-cost technologies to minimise customer impacts".
