Energy UK Events – Code of Conduct
Energy UK aims to provide a safe environment for all attendees at events and conferences, whether at an external venue or at Energy UK’s offices. We expect all of our guests to adhere to this code of conduct, which outlines our standards and possible actions if individuals do not comply.

Whether an attendee, a speaker, a sponsor, an exhibitor or member of staff, attendees should feel they are in a safe environment where everyone is treated with respect. Any behaviour that undermines this aim is unacceptable, and all incidents will be taken seriously.
Energy UK requests that all attendees adhere to this Code of Conduct whilst attending one of our events.
The Energy UK Team will always be visible at our events, and any concerns about potential misconduct should be reported to one of the Energy UK Team, who should always be recognisable via visible lanyards, as soon as possible.
At Energy UK events, all attendees shall:-
- Be inclusive and act with integrity, ensuring that everyone feels welcome, respecting and valuing the diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experience of all attendees.
- Be collaborative, ensuring that all individuals are included during relevant activities during event sessions and networking events.
- Be kind and polite in all forms of communication, both in person and online.
Energy UK does not tolerate harassment, intimidation or discrimination of any attendees.
Examples of conduct prohibited at events shall be determined at Energy UK’s discretion will include, but are not limited to:-
- Offensive comments made in a derogatory way
- Stalking, whether in person or online during an event, or after an event including inappropriate photography, text or email messaging or contact via social media channels.
- Inappropriate physical contact of any nature which can result in an attendee feeling uncomfortable.
- Bullying, insulting or undermining behaviour of any kind, either verbally or written.
If any attendee is seen to violate this code of conduct, Energy UK will take steps deemed necessary in order to remedy this complaint.
This can include, but is not limited to:
- reporting the individual’s actions to the police
- warning the individual about the inappropriate nature of their behaviour and being asked to leave the event
- banning the individual from Energy UK company premises and Energy UK events in external premises
- formally raising the incident to the individual’s place of work
