Energy UK response to Heat networks regulation – registration guidance consultation

Publications Headers Consultation response2

Energy UK welcomes the proposed guidance on registration and supports the clarity this document provides to help streamline the registration process for heat networks. The proposed guidance would benefit from providing clarity for registration requirements for Shared Ground Loops to clarify requirements apply to the boreholes and the connecting pipework and does not extend to the individual heat pump, as this will be supplied by licenced electricity suppliers. More clarity would also be welcomed within the guidance regarding the registration requirements for heat sources feeding into heat networks. Energy UK supports the development of a digital service to support registration and provide a centralised platform and encourage Ofgem to engage with industry to co-develop the platform.
