Energy UK response to Reforms to the statutory consultee system

Publications Headers Consultation response2

The statutory consultee system has long been in need for reform, and Energy UK largely welcomes the proposed reforms highlighted in this consultation. In particular, greater efficiencies for the Environment Agency and Natural England will ensure a smoother system. However, the planning system remains in flux, with additional pressures to consent more projects putting additional strain on the system. Therefore, this consultation provides an excellent opportunity to consider further reforms, and how these materialise in future.

If you would like to discuss this response in further detail with Energy UK and its members, please contact Chris Friedler Policy Manager (Environment and Planning) at chris.friedler@energy-uk.org.uk
