Responding to the Government’s reforms to the Clean Industry Bonus (CIB) and the introduction of a Fair Work Charter ahead of the next Allocation Round 8 (AR8) of Contracts for Difference, Head of Industrial Strategy at Energy UK Rachel Cary said:
“Investment in clean energy will not only deliver secure, low-carbon power to consumers, but create a strong pipeline of high-quality, rewarding jobs. The Fair Work Charter announced today reflects our industry at its best and is a welcome commitment to upcoming legislation that will strengthen workers’ rights across the economy.
“These opportunities will be spread throughout the country thanks to the introduction of an industry-wide skills fund that will allow investment into the workforce to be deployed strategically, delivering long-term results where they are needed most.
“Overall, these announcements provide greater clarity and transparency around the future of the CIB. The priority must now turn to ensuring AR8 can be delivered with ambition and at pace.”
