Energy UK Explains: The July 2026 price cap

Ofgem will announce the Q3 energy price cap on 27 May. Before then, Energy UK has been updating stakeholders about expected changes, as the cap will almost certainly rise due to ongoing volatility in wholesale gas markets. The regulator is also changing the Typical Domestic Consumption Value (TDCV), slightly lowering the assumed average household energy use in its calculations. This slide deck outlines how these updates may affect the cap.
