Energy UK comments on System Operator and Code Reform proposals

Commenting on Government/Ofgem proposals for a Future System Operator and Energy Code Reform, Energy UK’s chief executive, Emma Pinchbeck said:

“We welcome BEIS and Ofgem’s joint consultation on proposals for a Future System Operator as well as today’s proposals on Energy Code Reform. The future energy system will be very different from the one we have known – dominated by renewable, smart and flexible technologies and at the very centre of the Net Zero economy.

“Therefore this is the right time to be looking at the institutions and rules that govern the energy sector. We need to have the right structures in place to deliver and co-ordinate change across the whole system – and at the pace required to reach the Net Zero target.”
