Energy UK responds to Sizewell C decision

Responding to news that the Government has granted planning consent for Sizewell C nuclear power station, Adam Berman, Deputy Director, Energy UK, said:

“Increasing the supply of domestic low carbon electricity is key to reaching our energy security and net zero targets. This decision is welcome news as nuclear power has a vital role to play as part of a diverse mix of low carbon technologies. A project like Sizewell C will also deliver widespread economic benefits to the local community and beyond. It will be important to ensure that the funding model delivers the best value for customers but this is a major step in securing nuclear energy’s role in powering our homes, businesses, and economy.”
