Energy UK response to 10 year infrastructure strategy

Responding to the Government’s 10 year infrastructure strategy, Energy UK CEO Dhara Vyas said:

“Today’s Ten-Year Infrastructure Strategy sets out a vision for a more strategic approach to the investment in and delivery of major infrastructure projects across the UK. Utility infrastructure is increasingly interconnected as we move toward a low carbon, digitalised, energy system, and it is right that the NISTA be tasked with identifying the ways in which strategic planning across sectors can be aligned to enable energy generation, new homes, and businesses to connect at pace. This strategy is fundamental to delivery of the Government’s growth and clean power missions and will give additional certainty to draw investment into the UK.

“Our recent report on data centres highlighted just one example of a sector that will depend on coordinated delivery of telecoms, water, energy, and land resources to enable investment to flow to the UK, and this decision will directly address those challenges. We look forward to the delivery of the Infrastructure Pipeline to enable much greater coordination of projects and the energy sector will continue to work with government over the next decade to implement this plan.”
