Nominations open for industry’s rising talent awards

The energy industry is once again being invited to recognise its up-and-coming talent as the Young Energy Professionals (YEP) Awards 2024 open for nominations.

Now in their tenth year, the YEP Awards are the UK’s leading ceremony for highlighting the contribution of early career professionals in the energy industry, celebrating achievements and identifying potential rising stars from those with less than ten years’ experience in the sector. This includes students who have demonstrated initiative and ambition to carry out work that has had an impact on their company and the wider industry.

The awards will be judged by industry experts with seven categories this year ranging from Team of the Year to Rising Star. A brand-new category – STEM and Innovator for Net Zero – will recognise those who have challenged the status quo within the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and thought creatively about how to solve the problems facing the energy industry.

The categories below are open for both candidates nominating themselves or for nominations by others. The award categories for 2024 are:

  • Customer Champion
  • Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Focus
  • Rising Star
  • Audrey Gallacher Award for Excellence
  • Team of the Year
  • YEP of the Year
  • STEM and Innovator for Net Zero

The deadline for applications and nominations is Thursday 30 August and the subsequent shortlist will be published on the Energy UK website on Thursday 26 September. You can also get tickets for the YEP Awards 2024 ceremony on Thursday 7 November here.
