Executive Summary
Given its wide-ranging nature, the Scottish Government’s Draft Environment Strategy covers a broad range of environmental issues which Scotland will need to tackle now and in the future. While the Strategy ably scopes out these issues, it is future information on policies and steps to meet these issues that will truly determine how closely the Strategy will be addressed in coming years. A particular point of interest is in managing tensions between development and nature restoration, with Energy UK keen to emphasise the positive role that renewable energy can play in environmental restoration.
